Domestic Staffing Through MUSANED

Housemaids, household drivers and domestic support personnel recruited from Pakistan through the Saudi MUSANED platform, with electronic contracting and e-Tawtheeq attestation.

Why This Category Differs

A Separate Regulatory Route Entirely

Domestic recruitment does not constitute skilled-trade recruitment under an alternative job title.

Domestic recruitment operates through a separate platform, under a separate contract, with a distinct attestation route and a distinct payment obligation. Agencies that do not observe the distinction generate difficulties at the visa stage, and it is the household that bears the consequence.

Household particulars and expectations should accompany the request.

The Regulatory Route

How MUSANED Governs This Category

Skilled and technical trades do not use the platform; those categories proceed under a block visa.

Domestic workers travel to Saudi Arabia through MUSANED, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development platform governing domestic-worker recruitment from end to end.

The contract is electronic and formally attested

Terms are executed through the platform and attested via e-Tawtheeq, establishing salary, working hours, rest days and scope of duties for both parties in a record that neither may subsequently reinterpret. For a household, this represents the principal safeguard against later dispute.

Salaries are paid electronically

With effect from January 2026, domestic worker wages in Saudi Arabia are required to be paid through the platform rather than in cash. Households are advised to establish this position prior to recruitment, as it affects both budgeting and record-keeping.

Terms are disclosed to the worker before travel

The candidate reviews the same contract as the employing household. In Jeewan's experience this is the most reliable single indicator of placement durability, as the majority of early terminations are attributable to the worker having formed a materially different understanding of the role than the household intended.

Jeewan maintains active e-contracting partnerships on the platform.

Assessment

Screening Without a Trade Test

Correspondingly more extensive, and more time-consuming.

Domestic placements are not supported by a trade assessment. Candidates are interviewed against the requirements of the specific household — family size, the presence of children or elderly members, cooking expectations, and whether the appointment includes driving — and are briefed on each of these matters before accepting the position.

Every candidate completes GAMCA/Wafid medical clearance, Protectorate of Emigrants processing and full documentation under the same licensed route applied to all Jeewan files. No informal channel operates for domestic cases.

The standing of this category within our practice

Domestic placement has formed part of Jeewan's work since 2008 and accounts for a substantial proportion of total deployments to date. It is not ancillary to our industrial recruitment. For many households in the Kingdom it represents the sole basis on which they engage a licensed agency, and it is administered with the same documentary discipline applied to a fifty-man construction order.

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Why are domestic workers recruited through MUSANED rather than under a block visa?+
Because Saudi regulation requires it. Domestic recruitment is governed separately from skilled-trade recruitment, and the platform administers the visa, the contract and the attestation as a single integrated process. A domestic worker cannot be brought into the Kingdom under a block visa intended for technical trades.
What is e-Tawtheeq, and why must the contract be attested electronically?+
It is the electronic attestation step that renders the employment contract enforceable by both parties. It establishes salary, working hours, duties and rest days in a record that neither the household nor the worker may amend unilaterally, which is the purpose for which the mechanism exists.
Are domestic salaries required to be paid electronically?+
Yes. This requirement took effect in January 2026. Wages are administered through the platform rather than settled in cash.
What should a household determine before submitting a request?+
Family size, whether the role encompasses cooking or driving, working hours and rest day arrangements, and the salary offered. Each of these forms part of the executed contract, and requests that leave them unspecified are materially more likely to result in a placement that does not endure.
